Due to the recent death of Davis, Rogers was too distracted and unfocused, which gave the group an advantage in the fight. When Batroc the Leaper and his Brigade attacked a SHIELD convoy, Rogers engaged the group to stop their robbery. During the fight, Rogers fought Titania and knocked out Absorbing Man with his shield. Due to upgrades made from stolen Stark Technology, they struggled to defeat them. When the Lethal Legion attacked a SHIELD convoy, Captain America joined Iron Man, Thor, Black Widow, and Hulk to stop the group. One notable instance was when he accidentally melted an electric kettle on a stove, mistaking it for an ordinary tea kettle. He was also somewhat out of touch with most modern appliances, given his upbringing. When he read comments about videos he would politely respond to every single one, leading Tony to advise the former to “Never read the comments”. Eventually, Tony bought Steve a computer. Ultimately he decided the only solution was to let go, feeling he could not do everything, but resolved to do what he could. He had tried to catch up on modern pop culture in his spare time, especially through libraries, but it took him a long time to “break even”. Rogers was also responsible for bring Wakanda into international diplomatic relations through its current Black Panther, T'Challa. Joining the team, he continued to operate as Captain America and battled a new variety of enemies. At some point in the 21st century, Rogers was discovered by the Avengers, who thawed him out of the ice. Rather than dying, the super soldier formula cryogenically froze him, though he remained unfound for decades. Rogers was also a long-time ally of Azzuri, the World War II's Black Panther, and thereby Wakanda's long-time ally.ĭuring the final days of the war, Captain America was frozen in the arctic during one of his missions. Steve was also romantically involved with British Agent Peggy Carter. During his time in Europe, he received help from various allied forces including US Corporal Clarence Davis and was given a magnetized Vibranium shield. Shortly after, Rogers took on the name of Captain America. In recognition of this, Rogers was promoted to the Rank of Captain. Rogers fought primarily in Europe against the Axis forces, notably the Nazis, and is said to have fought Adolf Hitler once, even smashing him in the face with his original shield. He was transformed into the first of what was planned to be the army's super-soldiers, but he was the only successful creation, due to disruption by enemy forces. Steve was the subject of the United States Army's Project: Rebirth.
